Penelopes' Heart

An abandoned wife weeps and dips, her heart

is heavy under the sway of long days.
She feels mocked my the moons' knowing observation.
Her life eroded by the humid days that lap against
spine of her need.

Her only companion, the nights' quiet breathing.

Oh, okay, I'm so used to looking beneath the poem that I didn't notice the link under the title-

the link [type] is very light.

Thanks for the quick reply, Dreamer.

Strangely this post reminds me of a poem, "The Forsaken Merman".

Nice read.

Thank you, Jaerose for the gorgeous
compliment! Please do return. :}

hi BA. I pulled up and read the Forsaken Merman and the quality
of yearning and melancholy are
present in both poems for sure.

My poem is dedicated to Penelope
the faithful wife, who husband finally returned after 20 years.

An abandoned wife,
Weeps and dips,
Her heart,
Her only companion,
The nights'
Quiet breathing.

I love it!
Evocation of solitude,
And it's attendant sadness.
peace
