Winter-Soul Triolet {OSI}

Drowsy in late winter.
My soul shivers and sighs.
Stoking my spiritual center
Drowsy in late winter.
Listening to my Muse, my mentor.
I kiss the blues goodbye.
Drowsy in late winter.
My soul shivers and sighs.

I love this. The alliteration and repetition really emphasizes the personality of winter.

What's the cure for a shivering, sighing soul?

Soul Opening

Hi Teresa, glad you noticed. For me there is a repetitive nature
to winter, esp. in the East Coast,
that can lull one into comfort
or melancholy, which can open
positive reflection. Thank you!

Hi MMt. Well, there is no cure needed. I find sighing to be
liberating and comforting.

It sounds like under the drowsy exterior, the spirit within is about ready to awake. :)

very hopeful message behind this piece. hope the upcoming spring can continue to beat the winter blues.

Cynthia said...

Yes, Ravenblack, the spirit within is being restored and ready to make an appearence.

Drowsy in late winter.
I long for early Spring.

Thanks for your visit and encouraging comments.

I agree with you about a book of poems for children. Most of my poems would fall into that genre. Maybe, I need to put some of them together and print them into book form. Sounds like a plan to me. ; ))

-My Muse My Mentor-

An inspiring,
Example,
A light in,
The early morn,
An answer,
To a question,
I did,
Not know,
To ask,
But,
From your heart,
I learn...

:)
peace

Oh Anonant, this is the most touching, lovely comment I can
recall reading in a very long time.

Thank You!

A muse is,
In the words,
We use,
To light,
the fuse,
Of our,
Collective,
Expressive hearts.

When one's words touches another's heart or mind it is always a special event.

Shiver and sigh indeed.. :)
peace
